But granting access to vast amounts of data wherever you happen to be runs the risk of information overload, which is why ASUS is working on devices that deliver just the information you need, when you need it. The concept is called ‘Waveface’ and it sits at the core of three exciting designs that combine already familiar ideas with more nascent technologies. Waveface Casa Intended for use at home, the Waveface Casa is a large, widescreen display that acts as both entertainment centre and internet portal. Unlike current big-screen tvs, the Casa isn’t designed to dominate a room and much of the screen is hidden behind a flexible cover when it’s not in use, leaving just small exposed areas that show useful information. Waveface Light Acting as an interface to the cloud rather than a high-powered personal computer, the Waveface Light takes the idea of the laptop to the extreme. Backed with a soft, flexible material, the Light uses a flexible, touch-sensitive display that can be used in both a traditional folding screen and tactile keyboard arrangement, or as a flat, single-screen tablet. Tired of running around trying to find a wifi hotspot? Well so was I so I did research and well.. Watch the video.. Just follow the big mouse pointer and it’ll work.. This works with vista (what I use) and I use this “ad hoc” wifi hot spot to get wifi on my ipod touch. now what I didn’t show you is what you do to connect your ipod touch/iphone wifi to the laptop.. go to your itouch/iphone wifi and turn it on AFTER you’ve done everything on the laptop. It should find your network if your wifi is on and select the blue arrow that faces to the right, beside your network name. It will bring up a screen on your touch with three noticable buttons: DHCP bootp and Static. Select the Static button and in the IP address bar type: 192.168.0.2 Make sure it looks like that or it won’t work.. go down to subnet and type 255.255.255.0 and the next bar will have 192.168.0.1 (router) and the DNS will be the same (192.168.0.1 If this is typed in, turn your ipod /phone wifi off and back on.. It should now recognize your computer network and connect.. Warning: I’ve only used ipod touch fimware 3.0..
