So I already know that laptops are more portable, and can take it where I want it in the house. And if I want to do my homework I can easily movie my laptop aside for more space. I also like that laptops are able to take up less space, so I don’t have that big box laying around with wires all over the place, heating up my bedroom and making lots of noise. But with desktops I love that they can have parts easily replaced. Like I can replace the memory, the space, etc…Virtually anything. My laptop has this piece of metal stuck inside and I don’t know what to do, so my laptop is basically can’t connect to a microphone or headphones and the volume is all messed up. But with a desktop it is also more powerful, so hopefully I like to browse a lot, that it will be able to take having 24 or so websites open at the same time, as well as doing other things, like Microsoft word, and msn, all at once. I like the big screen, making homework easier and getting a separate keyboard that I can choose for comfort levels. But I still can’t decide.
I like the idea that the laptop is more portable and takes less space, and is less noisy and hot. But I like desktops because you can have a bigger screen, more power, but don’t like the space it will take up and all the wires.
Please how can I choose. It’s like a major decision and investment. Unless theirs a really incredible laptop our their or really small powerful desktop, I don’t know what to do.
hi ive been connecting my laptop to my tv, but when i disconnect it, my laptops screen resolution is set to 1024 by 786 but it looks too big , before when i disconnected it went bck to exactly how it should but now for some reason it dont

I might move out for University, but I’m scared! My parents have done everything for me, and I’m not independent. I’ll be 18, and I’ve never had a job (parents pay for everything) I don’t even have a bank account, I know nothing about budgeting or anything important in life! Being the only girl of the family, my dad treats me like a princess. My mom cooks for me and cleans my room, etc. They never exactly forced me to be independent. I’m really scared about residence, what if it’s too noisy? What if I don’t make any friends (I want to have a single room…I can’t handle another person living in such close quarters with me + I’m shy). People tell me I’m naive, that I live in a tiny perfect world my parents created for me and know nothing of the real world. I don’t go out much, my parents buy me anything–big screen, laptops, cellphones. I don’t have any hobbies or a lot of friends. I get lost easily and have never traveled without my parents. Any advice? I’m just really freaked out!

I’m into gaming and I find that the 17inch laptops usually come with better graphics cards and also usually get more bang for your buck. I found an hp that has 320gig hd, 3 gig ram nvidia 8600 gt with 512 dedicated, a 1.67 centrino duo core processor, and a blu ray for 1200..not bad..but too big?
